The Scotch Malt Whisky Society doesn’t believe in pre-judging a single cask whisky based on where it comes from – we prefer to appreciate it based on its flavour rather than its origin. That said, region can be another useful signpost as an indication of the whisky’s origin and whether it conforms to that region’s usual profile, or perhaps is something of an intriguing outlier.
